about
Sabbat is an orchestral piece inspired by some 17th century woodcut prints of witches, pictured variously with their familiars, pledging allegiance to the devil, and flying to their witches' sabbath. The woodcuts' quaint naivety belies the torture and terror precipitated by the superstitions they reflect.
Included in this EP is a piano variation called Familiars, as well as a brief interlude featuring the main choral theme, and an extended version.
